Βιβλίο για τον Ισπανικό Εμφύλιο μέσα από τις εμπειρίες διαφόρων Αμερικάνων, εθελοντών και δημοσιογράφων.
Εξαιρετικά καλογραμμένο και με πολύ καλή ροή. Οι χαρακτήρες και οι ιστορίες πολύ ενδιαφέρουσες με αναφορές σε άτομα που δεν πολέμησαν, αλλά επηρέασαν ιδιαίτερα την σύρραξη (π.χ. Αμερικάνοι πετρελαιάδες).
Η οπτική είναι περισσότερο βασισμένη από την άποψη των Δημοκρατικών και κυρίως κομμουνιστών, με ολίγη από καταστάσεις στην άλλη πλευρά.
Λίγα για τους αναρχικούς σε Καταλονία, κυρίως όταν αναφέρεται στον Όργουελ.
Έτσι δεν είναι ένα βιβλίο που προσφέρει ολοκληρωμένη εικόνα και σίγουρα έχει προκαταλήψεις λόγω των κύριων αφηγητών/"ηρώων" να είναι κομμουνιστές.

Το συνιστώ ως σημαντικό βιβλίο για όσους θέλουν να διαβάσουν/μάθουν για:
